Speed up your iPhone with a new battery

Well this is an interesting story (fact).  Apple has confirmed that some IOS updates have introduced code that purposely slows down processing speeds in order to prolong battery life.  Apparently this is so that Apple can continue to “deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices”.   Hmmmmmm.  And apparently these “older” phones include the iPhone 6 and 7 models.  Here’s the whole article – https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/20/16800058/apple-iphone-slow-fix-battery-life-capacity.

Well if you think your phone is affected by this (IOS versions 10.2.1 and 11.2.0), the obvious possible fix is to replace your phone battery.  Though not the easiest task in your busy day, it is a doable DIY project.  Batteries and phone opening kits can be easily (and relatively cheaply) found on both Amazon and iFixIt Canada.
